The canton of Uri, located in the heart of Switzerland, stretches from Lake Uri in the north to the Gotthard Pass in the south. Even Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) was fascinated by the adventure of crystal hunting in this region.
 In the second half of the 20th century, crystal hunting finally became a popular pastime. With the incredible giant crystals from the Planggenstock, whose unique fissure system currently reaches a length of 100 meters, today's generation can even experience firsthand a find that, like the Sandbalm cave, has made its way into history books.
