Natural scientists and social scientists, collectors and gem cutters, jewelry makers and jewelry lovers, all speak of tourmaline with respect and joy. Three hundred years ago, it was still an overlooked "black-market" mineral. Only in our century has its multifaceted nature been revealed to us.
