"Water Power and Gemstones" is the title of the special exhibition held in 2003 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the German Gemstone Museum. This book describes the ingenuity and diversity of the work carried out on water-powered sandstone cutters. As a tribute and expression of gratitude to these pioneers of the 18th to 20th centuries, it presents cutting and polishing work from this period, the likes of which have never before been shown from this region.
